LIGHTHOUSE GEO cerca un Survey Engineer

The Survey Engineer is responsible for preparing, testing, installing and maintaining electronic equipment onshore that is used offshore to perform survey, positioning and remote intervention tasks.

The person we are looking for will have to deal mainly with the following:
> Install, calibrate and test all equipment prior to shipment/mobilisation
> Identify faults and effect repairs as and when required to maintain operation status of all
equipment and data network
> Preparing reports including damage / fault reports
> Liaise with offshore party chief during operations
> Operating online survey software and monitoring the data quality to ensure the survey
specification is achieved
> Supervise equipment administration, reporting and log keeping including tracking of
equipment
> Test and interface survey sensors and systems to vessel, subsea system, online and
offline systems
> Planning and supervising survey activities, including the setup, interfacing, testing,
calibration and operation of survey sensors
> Manage (preventive) maintenance schedules for all survey equipment
> Keep abreast of relevant technical developments, working practices and department
procedures
> Supervising and providing training to staff

Qualification: High school in relevant electronics / IT related discipline OR equivalent vocational qualifications and experience, preferable Bachelor degree in Earth Sci./Eng./Nautical Science

Experience: 3/5 years
Minimum Requirements:
> Computer knowledge (Windows OS)
> Good English speaking, writing, reading and listening
> Able to work flexible hours, travel when required and work offshore.
> Electronic Competence
> Knowledge of Marine survey equipment
> Knowledge of geophysical and hydrographic survey equipment and data
> Microsoft Office Package usage
> Principles and operation of Multibeam echosounder
> Principles of reflection seismic methods
> Unrestricted ability to travel
> Willingness to work offshore/abroad for long periods
> Knowledge of SSS, SBP and magnetometer data
> Basic Knowledge of electronics and data communication links
> Basic Knowledge of the commercial/Company SW for marine data acquisition
> Basic Knowledge of the principles and operation of SSS, SBP and magnetometer

Desirable:
> Considerable offshore survey engineering experience;
> Good communication and teamwork skills are essential;
> Experience in the setup and operation of MBES, USBL, INS, Digital Video.
> Understanding of the principles of real-time positioning, data acquisition and data QC

The ideal candidate shall meet the following requirements in addition to the above:
– Bosiet / Huet Valid certificate (OPITO approved)
– Valid passport

Kind of contract (fixed / indeterminate time) and classification (level and remuneration) will be defined during the final interview.

The research is extended to both sexes (Law 903/77) and is urgent.
